The Forest’s Flower Institute has created in 2023 this space dedicated to practices of health care. The health center offers educational activities as well as free integrative and complementary therapies for the entire population of Jordão. There, weekly the institute carries out Yoga classes in which people has the possibility to work out both the mind and body health through a holistic perspective. It hosts also a weekly meeting of the Spinal Health Group, when integrative musculoskeletal health practices are accomplished for people with painful disorders resulting from spinal diseases. Another important activity carried out in the health center is the occasional practice of massage therapy and sound healing (a practice that promotes mental and physical health through music). The site also houses the Xinãyá library, which offers relevant content to raise awareness among the population. The book collection covers topics such as health, spirituality, botany, ecology, history, indigenous peoples, sociology, poetry and visual arts. The books are rented free of charge by the population, upon registration. With the heavy floods of 2024 in the municipality, 40% of the library’s contents were lost, but the collection is gradually being restored through donations.
